A visit to the Nations capital 学校ブログ

Years 5 & 6 students from both the Japanese and International Divisions, recently enjoyed a three day excursion to Canberra, Australia’s capital.

They had the opportunity to become part of Parliament at Parliament House, and enjoyed Hockey, Football and Handball at the Australian Institute of Sport. Other places visited were the National Museum of Australia, the Telstra Tower, Royal Australian Mint and the Australian War Memorial. This excursion tied in nicely with their in-class learning about Australian politics.

Students from both divisions found it to be a memorable trip and really enjoyed visiting all the sites, having fun doing various activities and sleeping overnight!

１０月１７・１８・１９日（水・木・金）の３日間、Ｙ５・Ｙ６の児童たちが日本人学級・国際学級合同でキャンベラ修学旅行に行ってきました。

博物館やテルストラタワー、国立スポーツセンター、国会議事堂、造幣局に戦争記念館など、首都であるキャンベラならではの多くの施設を訪れました。

日本人学級と国際学級の仲間みんなで寝食をともにし、一緒に見学をしたりボウリングを楽しんだりと、集団生活ならではの楽しい体験ができました。

それぞれの場所では説明を聞くだけでなく、模擬議会をしたり、ＡＩＳではハンドボールやサッカー、ホッケーをしたり、体験を通しながら多くのことを学びました。また、朝や夜のホテルでの生活では、限られた時間の中、さっとシャワーを浴びたり、身支度を整えたり、時間前に食事の席についたりと、先を考えた行動ができていました。

子どもたちにとってとても楽しい修学旅行になったようです。
